Welcome to the NiaTube Community
NiaTube exists to celebrate African creativity, preserve history, encourage learning, strengthen communities, and expand economic opportunity through responsible digital innovation.
These Community Guidelines explain the standards that help creators, viewers, educators, journalists, artists, entrepreneurs, advertisers, and communities participate safely, respectfully, and confidently on the Platform.
The Guidelines apply to videos, livestreams, comments, profiles, channel information, advertisements, messages, memberships, links, images, and other content or conduct made available through NiaTube.
These Guidelines should be read together with the NiaTube Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and any additional policies that apply to specific products, services, or creator programs.
Our Community Principle
Create with integrity. Engage with respect. Grow together.
This principle reflects the culture NiaTube seeks to build: a community where creativity, dignity, truth, responsibility, and opportunity can thrive together.
1. Our Community Values
NiaTube is built around values that support creativity, dignity, opportunity, and responsible participation. These values guide how users interact, how creators publish, and how NiaTube develops and governs the Platform.
Respect
Treat people, cultures, communities, and ideas with dignity. Disagreement is allowed, but harassment, humiliation, threats, and abuse are not.
Creativity
Share original work, develop new ideas, and use the Platform to educate, entertain, document, inspire, and build meaningful connections.
Authenticity
Represent yourself, your content, and your intentions honestly. Do not deceive users, impersonate others, or manipulate Platform activity.
Inclusion
NiaTube welcomes diverse languages, cultures, perspectives, and experiences from across Africa and the global African diaspora.
Responsibility
Consider the impact of what you publish and how you engage. Creators and users share responsibility for protecting the integrity of the community.
Growth
Use the Platform to create opportunity, strengthen communities, expand knowledge, and support sustainable creator businesses.
A Shared Standard
These values apply to everyone who participates in NiaTube. They provide the foundation for the more specific standards described throughout these Community Guidelines.
2. Respectful Conduct
NiaTube supports open expression, thoughtful debate, cultural exchange, and meaningful disagreement. These freedoms must be exercised without targeting others with harassment, threats, abuse, or dehumanizing conduct.
Users may criticize ideas, public actions, institutions, policies, and creative work. However, criticism must not become targeted abuse, intimidation, humiliation, or conduct intended to silence or harm another person.
Prohibited Conduct
- Threatening, harassing, bullying, stalking, or intimidating another person.
- Encouraging others to target, shame, abuse, or overwhelm an individual or community.
- Publishing private or sensitive personal information without lawful authority or appropriate consent.
- Using slurs, degrading stereotypes, or dehumanizing language to attack people based on protected or personal characteristics.
- Repeatedly contacting someone after they have clearly indicated that the contact is unwanted.
- Making credible threats of violence, sexual harm, property damage, or other serious injury.
NiaTube may consider context when reviewing content, including whether material is educational, documentary, journalistic, artistic, historical, satirical, or intended to condemn harmful conduct rather than promote it.
Disagreement Without Abuse
Strong disagreement is permitted. Personal attacks, threats, and targeted harassment are not. NiaTube encourages users to challenge ideas with evidence, perspective, and respect.
Community Protection
NiaTube may remove content, limit interactions, or take account action where conduct creates a serious risk to the safety, dignity, or participation of others.
3. Authentic Content
NiaTube encourages original creativity, truthful representation, and responsible storytelling. Users and creators should publish content honestly and avoid misleading others about who they are, what they represent, or the origin of their content.
Authenticity helps build trust across the Platform and strengthens the creator economy by ensuring that audiences can confidently engage with genuine people, organizations, and creative works.
Users should:
- Create and publish original content whenever possible.
- Respect copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights.
- Clearly identify sponsored or promotional content where appropriate.
- Credit creators and sources when using material with permission.
- Represent themselves and their organizations honestly.
Prohibited Conduct
- Impersonating another individual, creator, organization, or public official.
- Creating fake accounts intended to deceive or manipulate others.
- Artificially inflating views, likes, comments, subscriptions, or engagement.
- Publishing misleading metadata, titles, thumbnails, or descriptions intended to deceive viewers.
- Misrepresenting AI-generated content as authentic real-world events where doing so could mislead users.
Trust Through Authenticity
NiaTube believes authentic creators build stronger communities, stronger businesses, and greater long-term trust. Honesty benefits everyone who participates in the Platform.
Responsible Innovation
NiaTube welcomes emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, when they are used responsibly and transparently. Users should avoid creating or sharing deceptive content that could reasonably mislead others about important matters.
4. Harmful Content
NiaTube seeks to maintain a safe environment for creators, viewers, advertisers, partners, and communities. Content that promotes or facilitates serious harm may be removed, restricted, or otherwise addressed under these Community Guidelines.
While NiaTube supports education, journalism, artistic expression, historical documentation, and public discussion, these purposes do not extend to content that actively encourages or glorifies harmful conduct.
Content That May Violate These Guidelines
- Content that promotes or encourages violence against individuals or groups.
- Content supporting terrorism, organized criminal activity, or other violent extremist organizations.
- Instructions that facilitate serious criminal activity or dangerous acts likely to cause significant harm.
- Content encouraging self-harm, suicide, or dangerous challenges without appropriate educational, preventive, or support context.
- Graphic violence or disturbing material published primarily for shock, intimidation, or glorification of harm.
NiaTube may consider the context in which content appears. Material presented for documentary, journalistic, scientific, educational, artistic, or historical purposes may be treated differently from content that promotes or celebrates harmful conduct.
Context Matters
The same image or video may be acceptable in one context and unacceptable in another. NiaTube evaluates content by considering both what is shown and why it is being shared.
Community Safety
Protecting people is one of NiaTube's highest priorities. Decisions made under this section are intended to reduce harm while respecting freedom of expression and legitimate public interest.
5. Misinformation & Deceptive Practices
NiaTube supports open discussion, commentary, journalism, education, satire, and the exchange of ideas. However, content that is materially false, manipulated, or presented in a deceptive way may undermine public trust, harm individuals or communities, or create serious risk.
Users should make reasonable efforts to ensure that factual claims are accurate, especially when publishing content about public safety, health, elections, financial opportunities, emergencies, or other matters where false information could cause significant harm.
Prohibited or Restricted Conduct
- Coordinated scams, fraud, phishing, impersonation, or schemes designed to obtain money, account credentials, or personal information.
- Materially false or manipulated content presented as genuine where it creates a serious risk of harm.
- Deceptive financial claims, guaranteed-return promises, fake investments, or misleading fundraising activity.
- False information intended to interfere with voting, public participation, emergency response, or access to essential services.
- Manipulated audio, images, or video that falsely portray a person as saying or doing something significant without appropriate disclosure.
- Misleading titles, thumbnails, descriptions, or metadata used to conceal the true nature of harmful or deceptive content.
NiaTube may consider context, including whether content is clearly presented as opinion, satire, parody, commentary, artistic expression, documentary material, or responsible reporting.
Accuracy and Context
Honest mistakes are different from deliberate deception. NiaTube may consider intent, context, potential harm, corrections, and whether a user has taken reasonable steps to clarify or update inaccurate information.
Responsible AI Use
AI-assisted and synthetic content may be used creatively, but users should disclose material alterations where necessary to avoid misleading audiences about real people, events, or evidence.
6. Child Safety
Protecting children and young people is one of NiaTube's highest priorities. We do not permit content or conduct that exploits, endangers, sexualizes, or otherwise harms children.
Users must not use the Platform to groom, exploit, harass, threaten, or facilitate harm against minors. Content involving children should always be shared responsibly, respectfully, and in accordance with applicable law.
Prohibited Content and Conduct
- Child sexual abuse material or any content that exploits or sexualizes children.
- Grooming, coercion, solicitation, or attempts to establish inappropriate relationships with minors.
- Content that encourages children to participate in dangerous, illegal, or harmful activities.
- Sharing personal information about children in a manner that creates privacy or safety risks.
- Using children to promote scams, fraud, or deceptive commercial practices.
NiaTube may immediately remove content, restrict accounts, report unlawful activity to appropriate authorities where required, and take other protective measures consistent with applicable law and child safety obligations.
Child Protection
Every member of the NiaTube community shares responsibility for protecting children. If you encounter content that appears to place a child at risk, please report it immediately through the appropriate Platform reporting tools.
7. Creator Responsibilities
Creators play a central role in the NiaTube community. In addition to following these Community Guidelines, creators are expected to act responsibly, maintain the trust of their audiences, and contribute positively to the Platform.
Creators are expected to:
- Publish content honestly and respect the rights of others, including intellectual property and privacy rights.
- Clearly disclose sponsored content, paid promotions, affiliate relationships, or other material commercial interests where appropriate.
- Engage with viewers respectfully and avoid abusive, deceptive, or manipulative conduct.
- Use monetization features, memberships, tips, advertising, and other financial tools responsibly and in accordance with applicable Platform policies.
- Cooperate with reasonable verification, compliance, and safety processes where required for participation in creator programs.
Additional requirements governing creator monetization, payouts, verification, advertising, and financial services are set out in the NiaTube Creator Policy Suite. Those documents supplement these Community Guidelines for creators participating in those programs.
Leadership by Example
Creators help shape the culture of NiaTube. By acting with integrity, professionalism, and respect, creators strengthen trust within the community and contribute to a healthy creator economy.
8. Enforcement
NiaTube seeks to enforce these Community Guidelines fairly, consistently, and proportionately. When evaluating potential violations, we may consider the nature of the content or conduct, the surrounding context, the severity of the violation, any prior history, and the potential risk to users or the Platform.
Enforcement actions are intended to protect the community while encouraging responsible participation and, where appropriate, providing users with an opportunity to correct violations.
Possible Enforcement Actions
- Educational notices or policy reminders.
- Warnings for less serious or first-time violations.
- Removal or restriction of specific content.
- Temporary suspension of Platform features or monetization.
- Temporary suspension of an account.
- Permanent termination of an account for serious or repeated violations.
- Referral to appropriate authorities where required by applicable law.
Certain violations, particularly those involving child safety, terrorism, violent crime, fraud, or other serious unlawful conduct, may result in immediate action without prior warning where permitted by law and necessary to protect the community.
Fair and Proportionate Enforcement
NiaTube's goal is not simply to remove content, but to encourage a safe, respectful, and trustworthy environment through balanced and consistent enforcement.
Governance in Practice
Enforcement decisions form part of NiaTube's broader governance framework and are designed to support community trust, platform integrity, and responsible participation.
9. Appeals
NiaTube recognizes that moderation and enforcement decisions can have a meaningful impact on users and creators. Where appropriate, users may request a review of certain enforcement actions through the appeal processes made available by the Platform.
Appeals should provide relevant information that helps explain why the user believes the enforcement decision was incorrect or why additional context should be considered. NiaTube may request supporting information where reasonably necessary to evaluate an appeal.
Appeal Principles
- Appeals are reviewed as fairly and consistently as reasonably possible.
- Additional context, new information, or evidence may be considered during the review process.
- Not every enforcement decision is eligible for appeal, particularly where immediate action is required by law or to protect users from serious harm.
- Repeated or abusive appeals intended to disrupt Platform operations may be declined.
Following review, NiaTube may uphold, modify, or reverse an enforcement decision where appropriate. Appeal outcomes are determined based on the available information, applicable policies, and relevant legal obligations.
Fair Review
NiaTube is committed to applying its Community Guidelines consistently while recognizing that context matters. The appeal process is intended to improve fairness, accountability, and trust across the Platform.
10. Updates to These Guidelines
NiaTube may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes in applicable law, Platform features, technology, community needs, safety practices, enforcement standards, or regulatory requirements.
When material changes are made, NiaTube may provide notice through the Platform, by email, or through other reasonable communication channels, where appropriate. The updated Guidelines will become effective on the date identified in the revised version unless otherwise required by law.
Users are encouraged to review these Community Guidelines periodically so they remain informed about the standards that apply when participating in the NiaTube community.
Evolving With the Community
As NiaTube grows, these Guidelines will evolve alongside the Platform. Our goal is to preserve a safe, respectful, creative, and trustworthy environment while responding responsibly to new risks, technologies, and community needs.
Governance Commitment
Updates to these Guidelines form part of NiaTube's broader governance framework and are intended to support fairness, transparency, accountability, and long-term community trust.
11. Contact Information
NiaTube welcomes questions, feedback, and reports relating to these Community Guidelines. Users, creators, advertisers, partners, and other members of the community may contact NiaTube through the official support channels published on the Platform.
Reports of suspected Community Guidelines violations should be submitted using the Platform's reporting tools or other designated contact methods. Providing clear and accurate information helps NiaTube review reports fairly and efficiently.
As the Platform grows, NiaTube may introduce additional reporting, safety, creator support, and governance channels to better serve the community and respond to emerging needs.
Our Commitment
